When I Was Joe wins North East Teenage Book Award

Keren David won the North East Teenage Book Award for When I Was Joe at a ceremony in Newcastle on Friday evening. This is probably the best run and most prestigious of the regional children’s book awards run by leading school librarian Eileen Armstrong. Keren was up against books from Orion, Walker, Hodder and Puffin so this win for her first book is fantastic news for her and for us.
