Rob Nudds

R. Jay Nudds was born in Dublin in 1985 and grew up near Manchester where his father, a Geologist, worked at the University. An avid reader of fantasy and science fiction in his youth, and an obsessive sports fan, he began writing seriously at the age of 17, turning his hand to novels, sports journalism and newspaper production before focusing on graphic novels. The primary theme of Nudds’ literary work is the relationship between man, God and fate. Nudds earned his degree in Archaeological Science from the University of Sheffield while working full-time as a fashion designer. With his heart set on a career in watchmaking – an interest sired by his exposure to the nuances of men’s tailoring – Nudds elected to leave Sheffield in order gain more professional experience in the hope of landing a place at a WOSTEP school in Switzerland. He managed to secure a job with the Bank of New York Mellon, working in the Global Stock Markets. When given the opportunity to train at the British School of Watchmaking, Nudds left a career in finance to pursue his dream. He currently works for the Swatch Group in Southampton and regularly writes articles about watches, fashion and sport (most notably American Football) on his blog, www.rjnudds.blogspot.com, as well as editing and writing for The Hare, a monthly newssheet also published online at www.theharenewspaper.co.uk and anchoring the online sports magazine show, Sports Desk.
