Shweta Taneja

Shweta Taneja heard her first mythology story the traditional way – orally. Her grandmother and mother would retell all stories of Mahabharata and Ramayana, complete with dramatic hand movements and expression. Then she saw TV serials like BR Chopra’s Mahabharata and Amar Chitra Katha comic books and was hooked to the world of mythology and fantastical creatures. Her favourite pass time became scaring her cousins with stories of ghosts and monsters. In the rush of her working career as a journalist, creative instincts got limited to her head and personal diary. For seven years she ran after people looking for stories. Then one day, after she had completed her Masters in English, she decided to create stories instead and took a plunge into the best way of telling stories – through visuals. Currently she lives in the city of Bangalore with her husband, Ashwani. She’s working on various other comic projects to create stories full of magic.
