Charlotte Bronte
Charlotte Bronte was born in 1816 and died in 1855. Jane Eyre, her most famous book, was published in 1847 under the pseudonym Currer Bell, to hide Charlotte Bronte's sex in an era when female authors were taken less seriously. This edition follows the text of 1848 which incorporated the final changes approved by Charlotte Bronte. This edition also includes reviews written at the time of Jane Eyre's sensational first publication.
