Pembleton was the most boring place in the world...until Count Dracula, Doctor Frankenstein, and a whole host of terrifying monsters moved in. Part of a team, led by an evil man known as Pierceblood, they are intent on world domination.

Having nearly achieved it, the only thing standing between Pierceblood and his audacious goal is a bunch of high school students, all of whom have hidden talents. These talents mean that, unknown to them, they are all future members of the Dusk Society.

This secret organisation was created after World War I, to ensure that ancient, magical weapons don't fall into the wrong hands. It resulted in a war between Pierceblood and the Dusk Society which has raged for decades, in all four corners of the world. Battles have been waged in a Paris fairground, the London underground, and a tomb in Egypt. But now the conflict has come to a small town in America and the fate of the world lies in the Dusk Society's newest recruits.

If they are to succeed, these chosen individuals will need to overcome their differences,a nd combine their newly-discovered talents to overthrow Pierceblood's evil plan.
